Mindfulness & Well-being

Mindfulness is being attentive in the present, calmly acknowledging and accepting our thoughts, feelings and sensations, and also being aware of our external surroundings. Mindfulness skills have been scientifically proven to assist with reducing stress, anxiety and depression. Mindfulness is best used as a preventative method, or to maintain well-being. If you are currently experiencing mental health symptoms, please discuss participation with your health care practitioner.

This Mindfulness Course is adapted from the first part of the Mindfulness-based Quality of Life and Well-being Program developed by Dr Patrick Jones at Murdoch University. Each session includes teaching, discussion and guided meditations in a supportive group practice environment.
